Questions & Answers

  1. I have an urgent question! Who should I contact?

Text Christina Martin (PTO Event Lead for Dave’s) at (916) 573-6762.

  2. I want to help out tonight. What should I do?

How kind! Feel free to lend a hand with any of the jobs here.

  3. What is Bridgeway Island Family Night at Dave’s Pumpkin Patch?

Bridgeway Island Family Night at Dave’s Pumpkin Patch is a chance to hang out with other BWI families while supporting a local business.

The Bridgeway Island PTO will have a Welcome Table just outside the Dave’s Pumpkin Patch entrance where you can say hi, sign up for a prize drawing, and check in if you need anything (like a Bandaid or a sensory-friendly kit).

From there, you can head to our picnic tables for some arts and crafts, stop by Dave’s Backyard BBQ to purchase your own dinner, or go all out & buy wristbands for the Dave’s CORNival (filled with lots of fun activities for younger kids!).

Make sure to come back to the picnic tables at 6 pm for our costume parade, where everyone who participates will get a prize!

If you want to watch a fun Halloween movie at sunset, make sure to purchase enough CORNival wristbands for the whole family to enter.

  4. What’s free?

We wish it could all be free! For now, we’ll have to settle for 100 free CORNival wristbands for the first 100 BWI kids who come to our Welcome Table. We will also have a bin of free pumpkins while supplies last!

    We will also have:

    • A drawing for 1 of 4 gift baskets just for stopping by our Welcome Table - 1 winner every hour!

    • Several tables set aside for Bridgeway families to hang out (bring your own picnic or buy dinner at Dave’s Backyard BBQ!)

    • Some fun activities at the Bridgeway tables

    • A costume parade at the Bridgeway tables at 6:00 pm - A participation prize for all!

  5. What isn’t free?

    • Wristbands into the CORNival are $12. A wristband is required for each person who enters the CORNival.

    • If you want to watch the Halloween movie (Nightmare Before Christmas) at sunset, make sure everyone in your party has purchased a wristband.

    • Food at Dave’s is amazing! Cash is required. The menu & current prices are here: https://www.vierrafarms.com/about3

    • Pony rides are separate from Dave’s & are $10.

    • If you want to choose your own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, you will need to pay cash for the pumpkin (no CORNival wristband needed to enter the pumpkin patch).

  6. What is a CORNival?

Vierra Farms is home to the Dave’s Pumpkin Patch CORNival, an area with a hay pyramid, tractor ride, jumping pillow, kids’ mini corn maze, farm animals, corn pits, and more! Entrance into the CORNival is $12. The first 100 BWI students who come to the PTO Welcome Table can get a free CORNival wristband.

Pony rides are separate from the CORNival and are $10.

  7. What should I bring?

    Things to consider:

    • Sunset is around 6:30. You may want to bring a flashlight or light-up items (like glow-sticks or LED necklaces).

    • Flies & mosquitoes are particularly bad this year. You may want to consider bug repellent or long sleeves.

    • PTO will have a first aid kit & sensory-friendly bags to check out. However, if your child is used to your own items, please bring them along.

    • CASH! Vierra Farms is a cash-only site. If you want to purchase food, pumpkins, or anything else, you will need cash. There is an ATM on site.

    • The movie will start at sunset (around 6:30 pm). If you want to be comfortable, bring low-back folding chairs or a blanket.

    • The temperature could range from 70 degrees at 5 pm to 50 degrees at 8 pm with some wind. Layers may be a good idea!

  8. What if I want to go but can’t afford it?

No family should be left out! Please contact us at bwipto@gmail.com so we can support you financially.

  9. What if I want to pay for another family to attend Bridgeway Island Family Night at Dave’s Pumpkin Patch?

We love to connect families who can afford a little extra with those who can’t! We have 2 main ways of sponsoring the event:

    • Make a direct donation for the items you’d like to go to another family. All donations during the next 2 weeks will be assumed to be for Dave’s entrance tickets. CORNival wristbands are $12 each. Our discounted pumpkins are $3 each.

    • Purchase items from our Amazon Wish List. Money we don’t spend on event materials will go straight toward purchasing more wristbands.

  10. Do you have a map?

We sure do! There are paper maps available at Dave’s Pumpkin Patch. For planning purposes, feel free to use ours here.

  11. Who should I contact with specific questions?

Please reach out to Christina Martin (Co-Treasurer on the PTO Board of Directors) at bwipto@gmail.com or text her at (916) 573-6762.
